How to love your laundry room

Â
Whether you have an enormous laundry room, an old washing machine tucked away in the corner of the basement, or a stackable set in a hallway closet, we all know a laundry space can quickly get out-of-control.
Â
Why? Often our laundry areas are pulling double-duty, serving as storage space, mudroom, pantry overflow, and more.
Let’s go over the basics of a clutter-free, organized laundry space:
Â
Start with a good declutter. Toss the junk and re-home anything that should not be in the laundry area.
Keep your pods at the ready (aka keep your essentials near the washer and dryer). Stash the detergent container up high (if you have young children in the house) or tuck them in a nearby cabinet, laundry cart, or closet.
Store products you use less frequently on a higher shelf or other out-of-the-way spot.
To keep small items from rolling around or getting lost, contain them with bins or baskets.
Hangers everywhere? You might need a hanger stacker.
Lift your machines by using pedestals, allowing for storage underneath.
Consider a wall-mounted or over-the-door clothes drying rack if you regularly hang clothing to dry.
If ironing is your thing, you need a wall-mounted ironing board.
Â
Whether your laundry space is compact or ginormous, clearing the clutter and creating a spot for everything will lead you to a more efficient (and enjoyable?) laundry experience.
